Catchin' Up!

Well, I will attempt to get some individulized posts on here soon. But for now,,,we are right outside of Daytona Beach, Florida. Port Orange to be exact. The park that we are staying in is very nice.We are close to shopping, the Daytona Speedway is right down the road, and the beach is about 8 miles away.
We are ready for Christmas (85 degree weather). Our packages and cards have been sent. So we can relax and enjoy the weather.
We talked to all 3 kids today and everyone is fine. Today I visited with my dad and we baked kolache (a Czech pastry). We had a great time.
Tomorrow Bob and I plan on going to the movies and taking our daily bike ride.
As always, we miss our family and friends and appreciate them very much.

Back On The Road!

Bob and I, along with Miles, the cat are back on the road. We left home on Tuesday, November 3rd. Our first stop was at an RV park in Cape Girardeau, MO for two days. We didn't want to get too far from home as we got back in the swing of things. For the most part, everything was great. Got used to the RV life pretty quickly and it ain't bad!
Our next stop was in Caruthersville, MO at the Lucky Lady Casino RV park. It actually was very nice. We stayed for one night. Gambled-I started with $10.00 and came out with $9.97. Bob started with $20.00 and came out with NONE!
Next we headed to Savannah, Tennessee. We are staying three nights at Green Acres RV park. Nothing fancy, but it meets our needs. We visited the Buford Pusser home and museum-of Walking Tall fame. Interesting. Tomorrow we will got to Shiloh National Battlefield.
As always, we miss our family and friends and appreciate them very much.

Happy Birthday, Joe

Hey, Joe, Happy 27th birthday, baby boy! We hope that you have a wonderful day!
Today, July 7th, Bob and I will leave Gypsum, CO and drive about 120 miles to Golden, CO for the night. We are slowly making our way home.
We spoke to the girls and Joe recently and everyone seems fine and quite busy. Ella even told us that "something fishy was going on".
The temperatures have been in the mid 80's and a little humidity. Nothing like Missouri, that's for sure.
As always, we miss our family and friends and appreciate them very much.

Happy Birthday, America!

We arrived in Grand Junction, CO on Friday, July 3rd. We will stay until Monday, July 6th.
Today (July 4th) Bob and I went to Colorado National Monument National Park. It was very pretty. It was established in 1911 and covers 32 miles of rugged up and down terrain. John Otto campaigned tirelessly to have the area set aside as a National Park. He built miles of trails through the area so others could enjoy its beauty. In 1911 his dream came true; the park was established and he was named the park's caretaker, a job that he gladly did until 1927 for $1.00 a month.
The weather has been quite nice, just a little warmer in the afternoon and some humidity. Bob decorated the motor home with our flags and we heard fireworks all evening.
We have all the laundry caught up and grocery shopping done, so I am not sure what we will do tomorrow. Kim called this evening and we got caught up with her news.
God Bless America!-the GREATEST country in the world.

Too Hot for Comfort!

Bob and I arrived in Boulder city, NV on Friday, June 26. We are staying at a nice park. We have full hookups, wi-fi, and cable. The weather has been extremely hot...113 degrees today. We stayed in the AC in the motor home!
Tomorrow we will head to Zion National Park in Utah.
Talked with several family members back home and everything seems to be fine.
As always we appreciate our family and friends and miss them very much.

"I'm Not A Crook" and Newport Beach

Bob and I visited the Richard Nixon Presidential Library in Yorba Linda, Ca. It was very interesting. Nixon's boyhood home is on the property. Actually, the library is on the original home site of the President's parents. Mr. Nixon's father built the family's home. The President and Mrs. Nixon are buried on the library grounds. Pat Nixon's rose garden is beautiful.
After leaving the Nixon library, we drove to Newport Beach and walked out on the pier and enjoyed the scenery. A wonderful day!

The Golden State

Bob and I arrived in Chino, California on Wednesday, June 10th. We are staying at a regional park and it is quite nice. It reminds us of West City Park but with camping. Our site is paved and we have full hook ups and great tv reception. No internet or cable though. Today we are at a public library to get caught up on the blog and other internet stuff.
Yesterday we did meet up with my friend Barb and her husband, Hugh. We had a great time getting caught up on all the latest news. They are doing great. They live about 10 miles from where we are staying. their home is beautiful. Barb fixed a wonderful dinner for us. And afterwards, we talked and laughed and laughed, and laughed. It is always so special to be with friends.
As far as we know, everyone at home is doing ok. We will make phone calls later to confirm.
Will close for now. The weather has been rather gloomy here in fact they call it "June Gloom". But despite that, we are still having fun!
As always, we miss our family and firends and appreciate them very much.

On Down The Road

Bob and I are in Banning, CA, staying at a KOA. We will leave tomorrow, Wednesday, June 10, and head to Chino, CA. The weather has been great. Temperatures in the mid 70's.
We will stay at a regional park just outside of Los Angeles. We will visit with a friend of mine and her husband. I haven't seen her in about 15 years. We also hope to visit Catalina Island.
I don't think we will have internet available there, so I will update as soon as I can.
As always, we miss our family and friends and appreciate them very much.

God Paints A Mighty Purdy Picture!

Wow! Please, make it a priority to see the Grand Canyon at least once in your lifetime. The pictures in our album do not do it justice. No words can describe the unique beauty of it.You have to see it to believe and appreciate it. This was our second visit and we want to go back again. We stayed in the campground located in the park and rode the shuttle buses provided by the park service.
Our campsite was very nice and the weather was great. The park was not very crowded. We made a point to see the canyon at various times of the day. Bob also walked one of the trails.
As you can tell, the Grand Canyon is one of our favorite stops in the most beautiful country in the world!
As always, we appreciate our family and friends and appreciate them very much.

Page, AZ

We stopped in Page, AZ just to rest up and continue on our way to the Grand Canyon. While at Page, it rained quite a bit. We really didn't see much while there. But I did get some pretty pictures on our way out. Check them out.
As always, we appreciate our family and friends and miss them very much.

Able To Stand In Four States At Once

Bob and I stopped in Four Corners, New Mexico. It is a protected area overseen by the Native American Tribes. There is a $3.00 vehicle charge to enter the area. There is a beautiful plaque that commerates the four corners area. The states of New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona, and Utah all border here. If you heard, it was recently reported that the location is about 2 1/2 miles off course, but they have decided to leave everything as is.

Catchin' Up!

We don't always have internet, so it makes it difficult to keep the blog up to date. And sometimes I just get lazy! Can you believe it? Anyway, Bob and I are in Durango, Colorado right now (Monday, May 11th). We have been here since Friday of last week. We are staying at a KOA park. It is quite nice and the weather has been wonderful. I will post some picture albums of places that we were at before arriving here. Our plan is to leave tomorrow morning and head to Mesa Verde National Park located in southwestern Colorado for a four night stay. We are working our way to Monument Valley (where a lot of John Wayne movies were filmed) and then to the Grand Canyon.
I had an enjoyable Mother's Day. I spoke to all three children and that was great. Bob and I also got to talk to our moms. The KOA was hosting a pancake and sausage breakfast on Mother's Day, so we attended and actually it was very nice. At least I didn't have to cook.
Today was laundry day. Thank goodness we didn't have much to wash.
We will stop at Walmart tomorrow for groceries and put gas in the motor home. Usually there is not much close to National Parks and I doubt that we will have internet or tv reception.
We are at an elevation of 6500 feet and you can tell it for sure. The air smells so clean and piney. The mountain views are beautiful.
I will close for now and get supper ready. I will update again as soon as we have internet.
As always, we miss our family and friends and appreciate them very much.

Living the Good Life at Good Life RV Resort

Bob and I arrived in Mesa, Arizona on March 1st. We had reserved a site for 1 month at a 55 and older adult RV community. We had my cousin, Janet, check it out before we arrived and she gave us the okay.
We love it here! We love Arizona! We love retirement!
The park has about 1200 residents for the winter season. Mostly these people own what is called a park model home. It is smaller than a double wide and not quite as big as a single wide trailer. But they are very nice with all the conviences of a stick built home. The park offers 2 heated swiiming pools, 2 hot tubs, 3 laundry facilities, 3 sets of showers (very clean, hot, hot water), pool hall, card rooms, jewerly making room, putting greens, batting cages, horseshoe pits, woodworking shop, bar-b-que grills, shuffleboard lanes, it's own post office, social halls, quilting, church, bingo on Friday nights, a sewing room, a lot of things for sure. Like they say, if you are bored, it's your own fault! Everyone has been very friendly. The weaather is great. We want to come back here for sure. We have been lucky to be able to spend some time with my cousin Janet, her daughter Dawn, and her family. They are so special to us. Family is everything.
We also found out that there were some Antonia, MO residents in the park. Mr. and Mrs. Barbro have been coming here for 19 years. We were able to spend some time with them. They are the most wonderful people. Bob and I went to school with their youngest son and the girl he married. Small world.
Our stay of 1 month has turned into 6 weeks. But that's okay. Tomorrow we will head for Dead Horse Ranch in Cottonwood, Arizona. It's about 130 miles from here. Arizona is a beautiful state and so much to see and do. It really is worth a trip.
As always we appreciate our family and friends and miss them very much!

Our Lady Of The Sierras

On Tuesday, February 17th, Bob and I took a drive to Sierra Vista, Arizona. We stopped at a chapel located high on a hill in the Huchuca Mountains. The shrine was completed in 1998. A waterfall cascades down from a rock formation behind the large cross (75 foot Celtic cross). To the right of the cross is a 31 foot statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The stone chapel is constucted out of river rock. The chapel is one of the largest stone structures in Southeast Arizona. It is a beautiful and serene setting. Bob and I spent some meditation time there and took some beautiful photos. If you are in the area, please stop and visit. It is worth the trip.
Some family news: our niece, Lorri and her husband, Drew, had their first baby on February 17th-a little girl-Ella Rose. Mom and baby are doing great. Welcome to the family Baby Ella Rose.
As always, we miss our friends and family and appreciate them very much.

I'll Be Your Huckleberry....

On Saturday, February 14th, Bob and I went to Tombstone. It was a drive of about 30 miles from our RV park. We had a very nice day-temperatures were in the high 60's. When we arrived at Tombstone, we parked the car and right next to us was a car with Missouri plates. We talked to the people and they were from Poplar Bluff.
We took a trolley tour around Tombstone. The town was started by Ed Schefflin. He would walk out to his desert claim, sure that he would strike it rich. The townsfolk told him the only thing he would find out there was his "tombstone". Well, he did strike it rich. He named his first mine Tombstone and also the town. Ed's brother joined him and they struck more silver in another mine which they named "Toughnut".
Today the town has character residents in full period costumes ready to answer questions and talk about the history of the town to visitors.
We attended the gunfight at the OK Corral. It was interesting. We enjoyed our day at Tombstone.
We then took a ride to Boot Hill cemetery. It is located right outside of town. The dead from the OK Corral gunfight are buried there. If you are in the area, it is a fun place to visit. The title of this blog refers to a quote from Doc Holiday. He said that to Johnny Ringo.

Arrived In The Land of Enchantment

We left Van Horn, Texas this morning about 9:30 AM and headed west on I-10 to Anthony, New Mexico-The Land Of Enchantment. It was an easy drive day of about 146 miles. The weather was great and no wind to slow us down. We arrived at the El Paso West RV Park about 12:30 but that was Mountain Time-we gained an hour.
The park is nice and it has great hot showers. That's always a plus. The showers are very clean and that's even better. We did stop at the New Mexico Welcome Center and got some brochures and maps of the area. I also got some pictures of the area and some along I-10 as well.
We have several things planned for tomorrow.
1. The motor home is going to the shop to get the slide topper spring replaced. It should only take about an hour or two.
2. Grocery shopping
3. Haircuts for both of us
4. Maybe get Miles to a groomer
5. Maybe see a movie
6. Exercise
Will let you know what gets accomplished.
We had a light supper and watched 24. I finished crocheting a baby blanket for Onie's son and his wife's baby. And we called it a day.
As always we appreciate our family and friends and miss them very much.

Scenery Along The Way

Our next stop was Comanche Land RV Park in Fort Stockton, Texas. It was just an overnight stay so really nothing to mention. We left the next day heading west on I-10. Before we left, we called Emma because it was her birthday. She was nine years old but not until 6:00 PM officially she told us. She was going to have a sleep over with her friends and she was excited about that. We had a piano light sent to her. Happy Birthday, pretty girl!
The scenery is changing to what looks like real western sights. Just what John Wayne must have seen. It is quite pretty in a unique way. The mountains in the background of the pictures are the Davis Mountains. And one of the sights that I photographed looked just like Bob. We continued west and stopped at Van Horn, Texas KOA. The park is nice and again the weather is great. Today I did laundry and cleaned the motor home. We will leave tomorrow, Monday, and drive 140 miles to El Paso West campground located in Anthony, New Mexico. I can't quit thinking about the Marty Robbins song.
As always, we appreciate our family and friends and miss them very much.

A Good Travelin' Man

I wanted to just let everyone know what a good cat Miles has been on our trip. He has gotten into the traveling routine quite well. He doesn't complain as long as he can sleep, eat, and have his treats. He is always there to greet us when we return from shopping or sight seeing. Check out Miles' pictures in action. He is definitely the Top Cat!
As always, we miss our family and friends and appreciate them very much.
Mary, Bob, and Miles, too!

A Bunch Of Nuts and the Junction Boys

Our next stop was in Junction, Texas. Famous for pecans and "Bear" Bryant training the "Junction Boys". Our campground was very secluded and that was nice for a change. The Llano River runs behind the campground. It is very pretty. Also, the manager of the park fed the deer every night. There were at least 20 to 30 deer at each feeding. He also had a deer stand further up on the property. Doesn't seem quite right though. There is a working pecan farm near the campground. Did you know that the state tree of Texas is the Pecan tree? There are a lot of pecan stands through out the state of Texas. Who knew? Sadly, there was nothing in the area to commerate the Junction Boys. Our stay here was for 2 days. We enjoyed the quiet and scenery.

How The West Was Won!

On Tuesday, February 3rd, Bob and I went to downtown San Antonio. It is a very pretty town but getting there is something! Lots of "fly overs" on the highways, lots of highways side by side, lots of turn around lanes and loops. A very busy and confusing highway set up. Good thing we had the GPS, it really helped us navigate those highways. Our plan was to visit the Alamo and tour the River Walk.
First stop-The Alamo. We had a beautiful day and the temperature was in the 70's. It is amazing to see how short the walls are in the Alamo. And to think that 200 men defended the Alamo against 3,000 Mexican soldiers. The Daughters of the Republic of Texas maintain the historic site and they do a great job. We took a tour of the Alamo which included a talk by one of the volunteers. Our guide was Dave and he gave a very informative talk on the history of the Alamo. Did you know that a woman and her infant daughter survived the Alamo attack? General Santa Anna spared their lives, gave the woman some silver coins, and told her to tell everyone what happened at the Alamo. Quite interesting. The courtyard and the gardens at the Alamo are beautiful. The native plants and historic brick walkways are very pretty. A must see if you are in San Antonio.
Walking across the street, we headed to the River Walk. It is an area of downtown that has been restored with lots of eateries and shops. Check out the pictures. We enjoyed seeing all the sights it had to offer. We ate lunch at Broudro's on the River Walk. Jen and Bryan recommended the spot and it was very good. Thanks! After lunch, we called it a day and headed home. We left the next day and some last minute things to get ready for our travel day. Next stop Pecan Valley-Junction, Texas.
As always, we miss our family and friends and appreciate them very much.

A Stream Of Air Streams And Family Visits

While we were in Elmendorf, Texas (just outside of San Antonio)we stayed at Braunig Lake RV Resort. The campground was very nice. It had a rec room, nice laundry facilities, a fishing lake, and friendly staff. Our site was level with full hook ups. We were there for a week and the weather was great-in the 70's most of the time. We also had several visits to make with family and friends and see some of the sites. And before we left the campground, there was an Air Stream Rally coming in to the park-lots of shiny aluminum! Our first visit was to Jeni and Bryan's-our niece and her husband and their two boys. Jen and Bryan are both in the Air Force. They have a beautiful home and we had a great visit. Being with family is the best. We talked and laughed and enjoyed seeing Reilly and Liam-their two little boys. They are so CUTE! We then finished our day by visiting Joe Boyer and his wife Shannon and their little boy, Carson. As it turns out, they only live about 6 miles from Jeni and Bryan. We had a nice visit with them. Joe is completing his residency for Internal medicine and then he will owe the Army four years. Joe is a friend of our son, Joe and Joe B. also played high school baseball for Bob. It was good to see them and know that they are doing fine. Carson is CUTE!
We returned to Jen and Bryan's the next night to watch the Super Bowl and had a wonderful visit.
We will sight see in San Antonio on Tuesday.
As always, we appreciate our family and friends and miss them very much.

The Great State Of Texas

Today, January 28th, we left Riverbend Campground around 11:00 am and headed 60 miles down the road to San Antonio, Texas. We are staying at Braunig Lake resort and campground. We have a very nice site, water, electric, cable, and free wi-fi.
The weather is much better today. Our two days in Luling, Texas were not too good. In fact, last night there were ice storm warnings just north of where we were staying. It was cold!!!
But today is great. It is in the 70's and beautiful clear skies.
We got the motor home set up, took a tour of the campground, and then headed to Wal-Mart. Had to get groceries and Miles was out of treats. Luckily, the store was not crowded and we finished shopping pretty quickly. We are back home and relaxing. Tonight we will have a salad supper and call it a day. Tomorrow we will check in with our niece Jeni and her husband and one of Bob's former baseball players and his wife and see if we can visit with them. We will be here for a week.
As always, we appreciate our family and friends and miss them very much.

River Bend RV Park

We arrived here about 3:00 PM today, Monday, January 26th. It is a nice park. Full hook ups and wi-fi. We have a nice level site. It was a long drive for Bob today-220 miles. We usually only drive about 125 to 150 on travel days, but he wanted to get through Houston. But the motor home ran good, great timing through Houston and not too much highway construction. The last 30 miles or so were a little windy so that slows us down. Otherwise, it went well. We will stay here for two days and then head to San Antonio and stay for a week. We didn't even unhook the car. The owners of the park have racehorses and they train them every morning, so we are going to watch them.
The weather is supposed to be getting a little cooler and some areas north of us are calling for sleet and cold temperatures. We don't think we will get the sleet and the temperatures won't get as cold. I talked to my mom today and she said they are supposed to get six to eight inches of snow.
Next stop-Braunig Lake RV Resort in Elmendorf, Texas

Gulf Coast RV Park

Wow!! This park was really nice. Most anything would have been an improvement from Maxie's. But this park had great reviews and they were correct. Paved streets throughout the park. All concrete site, full hook ups, wi-fi, and cable. $17.50 a night. They also served a free continental type breakfast everyday from 7:00 am to 10:00 am in the rec room. It was very clean and spacious and had a library to exchange books. A pool. laundry room, excellent clean showers and restrooms, and there were also complimentary bicycles for the guests to ride.
The weather was a little cool and we had a little rain the first evening. We went to Cracker Barrle for dinner after we got the motor home set up. It was good.
The next day we rode our bikes to the softball field complex located close to the RV park. It was nice. We rode five miles around the park and got our exercise.
Family news-My brother's daughter, Jaime and her husband Jim welcomed a baby girl, Cameron Elise, to their family on January 12th. She is welcomed home by her big sister, Aydan. We are happy to add her to our family.
Next stop-River Bend RV Park, Luling, Texas
As always, we appreciate our family and friends and miss them very much.

Maxie's RV Park

Oh, boy!!!! By far, the worst RV park that we have stayed in. It was located right off of a major highway. Once we parked our RV, the back of the RV was about 50 feet from the highway. Noise, noise, noise. I didn't even go check out the restrooms or showers. It was run down and some of the RV's in the park had seen better days and they appeared to be permanent residents. We really didn't have a choice but to stay because we didn't have wi-fi and didn't know what other parks were close by. When you check on line for these parks, you have to try to read between the lines of their descriptions. And they post pictures that could be really old. We also check reviews and unfortunatly there were no reviews on this park. But it happened to be on our route. Anyway, we made the best of the situation. $10.00 a night and we only had to stay two nights.
Next stop-Gulf Coast RV Park in Beaumont, Texas
As always, we miss our family and friends and appreciate them very much.
Mary, Bob, and Miles, too!

Bay Harbor Rv Park

We arrived at Bay View RV Park and it was nice. The area of Mississippi that we were in looks as if it is still suffering the effects of what ever hurricaine that went through there. Lots of signage that needs to be repaired, homes that need to be repaired, and not really a pretty area scenic wise.
We were about 10 minutes from the Gulf of Mexico and a casino. We went to both.
Bob and I both won $10.00 and also came back with our starting cash. It was fun, except for the smoke, noise, and old people on oxygen. Ha-Ha!
This stop was again just a rest stop for us. So we just took it easy for two days. I did wash a couple loads of clothes and cleaned the motor home.
Next stop-Maxie's in Broussard, Louisana
As always, we miss our family and friends and appreciate them very much.
Mary, Bob, and Miles, too!

Eagle's Landing Park

We arrived at Eagle's Landing Park. It is a private campground and it is part of the Recreation USA Camping Club. By being members, we can stay at member parks for $10.00 per night, a great deal. We had water, electric, and sewer hook ups, and free wi-fi. The sites were nice and level and it was a small park. The owners were very nice and lived on site. They had been full time RVer's and then decided to stay put and opened the park. It was located about 10 miles outside of Crestview, Florida.
One of our objectives while we were there was to make contact with one of our "Herky" friends. Rick Hollett. Bob grew up with Rick during their grade school years in Antonia and then Rick attended Herky with us and graduated with the great class of 1970.
We were able to locate Rick and his wife. We met them at their home and had a great visit. We talked, and talked, and talked. We laughed, and laughed, and laughed. We then went out for lunch to a local bar-b-que place and had a great lunch. Back to Rick and Kathy's to finish our visit. We really enjoyed seeing them. They go to Kathy's homeland of Thailand every February and stay for two months. Rick is retired from the Air Force. Hopefully, we will stay in touch.
We finished our stay by going to a movie. And as our family knows, that is quite an accomplishment for us. The last movie that we saw in the theater was Saving Private Ryan. This time we went to see Gran Torino starring Clint Eastwood. It was a good movie.
Next stop-Bay Harbor Rv Park in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi
As always, we miss our family and friends and appreciate them very much.
Mary, Bob, and Miles, too!

Falling Waters State Park

Falling Waters State Park is a relatively new park. It was built in the 1970's. It is located near Chipley, Florida. It had nice showers and restrooms. We had a nice site and even spoke to some Missouri folks that were staying there. The park was set up on a hill-I mean high on a hill. We tried biking and I could not ride back up the hill. But the park was quite scenic and quiet. Water and electric at the site and a price of $15.00 per day. Pretty reasonable, for sure. We enjoyed nice weather while we were there. No sightseeing here. It was just a stop to rest up. And that is always nice.
Next stop-Eagle's Landing in Holt, Florida.
As always, we appreciate our family and friends and miss them very much.
Mary, Bob, and Miles, too!

Oleno State Park

After leaving Tarpon Springs, Florida, we headed to Oleno State Park ion High Springs, Florida. We had a beautiful day for driving and Bob just motors along in the "Big Rig" Vivian.
We were pleasantly surprised by the park. It was very nice and quiet. Water and electric at the sites and we had the only pull through site in the park. The rangers were very friendly and the history of the park was interesting. It was built by the CCC in the 1930's. There is an on site museum dedicated to the CCC and the building of the park. There is a swinging bridge over the Santa Fe river that runs through the park. The Santa Fe river is trbutary of the Suwannee river. The distictive geological feature of the park is the River Sink where the Santa Fe river disappears underground to re-emerge three miles south at River Rise Perserve State Park.
We rode our bikes around the park and also walked some of the trails. I wouldn't go down on the river trail because gators are quite numerous there. But Bob went and came back fine-no alligator shoes!
We went to town one afternoon and ate lunch at a Jimmy Buffet themed eatery. We were the only customers for a while. The food was good and we enjoyed the atmosphere.
We also drove to another park to see some springs. It was called Ichetucknee Springs State Park. While we were there, we walked along the wooden boardwalk which took us down a trail head. Bob got the brillant idea that I should climb a tree up to this huge branch so he could take my picture. Well, I made the climb and got out on the branch to sit down for the picture. I almost lost my balance and he couldn't quit laughing. He was sorry that he didn't capture that Kodak moment. What do they say about paybacks? An interesting day for sure.
We finished our stay without any further mishaps.
Next stop-Falling Waters State Park.
As always, we miss our family and friends and appreciate them very much.

Onie, Larry, and Tarpon Springs

Tarpon Springs is located on the gulf side of Florida. It is known for the sponge divers and it was settled by the Greeks. We took a drive to the boardwalk with Onie and Larry and saw the sponge diver's boats. We enjoyed lunch at a local restaurant.
We picked Miles up and got him back to the motor home so he could get acclimated. He was happy to be home.
The RV park that we stayed at was very nice. Clen showers and restrooms, great laundry facilities, heated pool, and the sites were level.
The next day after we got back, I did laundry and got all of the things we brought back with us put away.
Bob and Larry had to take a motor home tire to be fixed. Luckily, it was just a slight valve leak and quickly fixed.
We had beautiful weather while we were in Tarpon Springs.
Our next stop, Oleno State Park, in High Springs, Florida.
As always, we appreciate our family and friends and miss them very much.

The holidays

We left the motor home and Miles in Tarpon Springs, Florida and drove the car home to Missouri. It took us four days of driving and staying in motels. As we got closer to Missouri, the colder it got. We had just left 76 degrees and shorts and t-shirt weather.
We arrived at Jim and Steff's about 3:00 in the afternoon. Both Jim and Steff were sick and about 2 days later Bob and I were not feeling well. I recovered pretty quickly but Bob developed a very bad sinus infection and was not feeling well the whole time we were home. In fact, when we got back to Florida he went to the doctor.
But despite the sicknees, we did have an enjoyable time with the kids and grandkids.
We were going to stay through the New Year, but decided to leave on December 30th because we missed the warm weather and I missed Miles.
We took another four days to get back to Florida. Once there, we stayed three days and visited with our friends, Onie and Larry, and picked up Miles. He was glad to see us (me) and I was glad to see him. Apparently, he made himself quite at home at Onie's and Larry's and pretty much ruled the roost. Their dog, Allie, got slapped on a daily basis by Miles we were told. I'm sure he was provoked!
Anyway, it was a great time and it was good to see everyone.
As always, we miss our family and friends and appreciate them very much.
