Catchin' Up-Round 2!

Honestly, I can't believe it's been almost a year since I posted to the blog! What have I been doing? Being retired and loving it ! So I will attempt a quick and concise summary of our travels for the past year and get things up to date. Here goes:

We arrived home in July of 2009 and we able to spend some time with Bob's dad before he passed away in August  of 2009. We stayed on with Bob's mom to help out and then left in November of 2009. Once on the road our first stop was Cape Camping and RV Park in Cape Girardeau, MO. Just a 2 day stop to get used to the RV life again and regroup for life on the road. Next stop Lady Luck Casino RV Park in Caruthersville, MO. Stayed for 1 night, went to the casino, no luck, however, so ready to move on. Next stop was Green Acres RV Park in Savannah, TN. Stayed for 3 days. On to Heritage RV Park in Tuscumbia, AL. We happened upon a sign that said this was the birthplace of Helen Keller. We were not too far from her girlhood home and decided to check it out. What a pleasant surprise! Her home is called "Ivy Green" and is quite lovely. We were given a tour of the home by a very proper and southern lady. Ms. Keller was quite an accomplished woman despite her handicaps. It was an enjoyable day. Glad we chose to see it.
Next stop Point Mallard Campground in Decatur, AL. This was a state park and very nice. We met up with our nephew's parents (who live in the area). We had a very nice lunch at Big Bob Gibson's BBQ with them and enjoyed their company, too!
Next I will list the towns that we stayed in and hopefully will post pictures relating to them soon.
Calera, Al, Opelika, AL, Americus, Georgia (visited Jimmy Carter's boyhood home), Tifton, GA, Williston, FL, Port Orange, FL, Palm Harbor, FL, Lake City, Fl, Holt, FL, Livingston, LA, Beaumont, TX, Luling, TX, San Antonio, TX, Fort Stockton, TX, Van Horn TX, Deming, NM, Benson, AZ, Mesa, AZ, Yuma, AZ, Santee, CA, Simi Valley, CA, Bakersfield, CA, Three Rivers, CA, Groveland, CA, Castro Valley, CA, Loomis, CA, Red Bluff, CA, Gold Hill, OR, Myrtle Creek, OR, Coos Bay, Or, Lane County, OR, Silverton, OR, Troutdale, OR, Silverlake, WA, Randle, WA, Yakima, WA, Pendleton, OR, Baker City, OR, Caldwell, ID, Mountain Home, ID Arco, ID, Fort Hall, ID, Brigham City, UT, North Salt Lake, UT, Green River, UT, Moab, UT, Richfield, UT, Cannonville, UT, Bryce Canyon, UT, Glendale, UT, Jacob Lake, AZ, Camp Vertde, AZ,. OK, now we are once again in Mesa, AZ staying at the Good Life RV Resort-a 55 and over adult rv community. We love it. We swim everyday, exercise, ride bikes, visit with my cousin, Janet, who lives here full time and in general enjoy life. This is our 3rd year of staying at this resort. The weather has been great and today we are enjoying a mild 83 degrees. I will post pictures of our previous stops soon. Our biggest news items recently are:  my stepdad, Billy Fulton, passed away in August of 2010. We will miss him! Joe and Brandy are officially engaged and the wedding is set for May 21st, 2011 and our great grandson, Treston, celebrated his first birthday on Oct 30. Life is good.

As always, we miss our family and friends and appreciate them very much..

 Mary, Bob, and Miles, too!
